WHO WE ARE

Both Ed and Jacque have been in the Native business world for 18 years as owners of Journeys to the Past, an educational company that promotes respect and knowledge of Native American cultures. Jacque is well known for her storytelling as she shares California indigenous history of her people, the Acjachemen Nation, a coastal Califoria Tribe located in San Juan Capistrano. One of the strengths of her teachings have been to inspire children to be caretakers of Mother Earth, by recycling, reusing and renewing.

Jacque was selected as 2009 “Educator of the Year” for the State of California at the 32nd Annual Indian Education State Conference. Jacque serves as the President of this company and is supported by all the men in her family. Jacque and Ed walk hand in hand in all decision making situations and their business has been a perfect paradigm shift to her teachings as a Cultural Bearer. It is their dream to make a big difference in Indian Country and beyond through Tamaayowut!

Nephew John Tahuka-Nunez has been a significant part of the vision planning of Tamaayowut and is the Project Manager of Water conservation systems/Sales and Public Relations for the company. He concentrates primarily with their strong partnership with Aqua Tech and works hand in hand with Tamaayowut.

Tamaayowut offers new technologies that will save resources; which is the wisdom of yesterday for today! This company is more than providing sustainable energy but also a percentage of the profit will be invested back onto the reservations and Indian Country for special services;providing scholarships, programs for renewal of indigenous languages, 1st Nation Faith based Ministries,12 Step programs, cultural events, providing educational cultural programs and more, depending on the needs of the people.
